| Paul, Tegue, and Friends - We Are Garifuna The Garifuna people participate in a unique culture that is reflected in their music. Over 300 years ago they escaped from slave ships destined for America, and were taken in by local island people near St. Vincent. The music is a blend of traditional African rythyms and influences from the around the Caribbean. Everything presented on this disc is considered folk music and would be performed at social/religious functions including weddings and funerals.
