About us . . .
Norris Maps is a sole proprietorship with Tim Norris as the owner
and operator. Occasionally work is contracted to outside help if needed, and sometimes Norris Maps is contracted alongside other
entities to complete larger projects.
Norris Maps was originally created to legally work as a contractor for the UC Systemwide Biotechnology Research and
Education Program (now the Industry-University Cooperative Research Program). Some of the work mentioned below was
done through Norris Maps and some was done by Tim Norris as an individual. Nawi Mapas, the Peruvian partner company, was created to work for the Mountain Institute in Huaraz, Peru and
has since done other contract work for individual publications in South and North America.
Tim Norris is a California native (born and raised in the farmland surrounding Davis). After an elongated bachelors degree at UC Berkeley he found that contract
work gave the freedom that was desired to allow for his passions for travel, music, and computers. The Maya Atlas project became a life shaping experience
through which map work was combined with the passions mentioned above.
Currently Tim lives in Huaraz Peru with his wife and three
children. Besides the continuing contract work, Tim and his wife run a small mom and pop breakfast/coffee spot for travelers that
are visiting the Andes of central Peru.
